Reports have emerged where the Guinea-Bissau President Umaro Sissoco Embaló has addressed the public saying everything is under control after the military stormed the Palace of the Republic as he was set to address the country.
The head of state speaks to the nation after a group of armed men fired bazooka shots and machine-gun bursts, forcing entry to the government headquarters, where the President of the Republic presided over the meeting of the Council of Ministers.
”I’m fine Alhamdulillah. The situation is under government control. I thank the people of Guinea Bissau and all the people beyond our country who are concerned for my government and me. Long live the Republic and may God watch over Guinea-Bissau.” he twitted on his twitter handle.
